How To Raise Children And Foster Positivity in Them ?

Are you as a parent failing to raise a child well?

A social experiment was conducted by the IKEA by placing two similar plants in an alike environment providing same nutrients and asked by the students to bully one plant and appreciate or say good words to another. After 30 days, the plant exposed to positive comments was seen thriving and the one which was relentlessly bullied found droopy.

Similarly, when a child is raised in a positive environment, hearing the words of appreciation, most likely the child when grown up becomes the nicest human being compared to the one who is unabatedly exposed to the negative comments and raised in the environment full of fights. 

It's important to correct the child when they act wrong but parents should make sure that they don't use bad words. And yeah, if as a parent you are castigating your children for their wrong deeds then you should be wise enough to appreciate them when they are doing good. A word of appreciation can bring positive energy in children which lead them to act right and get admired again. 

Apart from all of this, parents should be aware of the fact that children act according to what they see. So, it's important to create a healthy environment at home and avoid unnecessary dramas by the parents. Most of the time kids try to copy their parents' behaviour so it's most likely if a parent is well behaved, well spoken, their children learn the same and act correspondingly.

Furthermore, one major mistake today's parents make is when they start comparing their child to others. This can adversely affect the mind of their child. Children when compared to others may feel inferior, question their abilities, generate jealousy and lack self confidence. Your children can never be at peace if you force them to be someone they are not.

A wise man once said 'as you sow, so you reap'. It's quite simple for what you expect your child to be, you should act well, speak well at first place. After that, you can teach your child about what's right and wrong for the family, society and so on. Basically, try to know their interests, hobbies and support them. For a child to move ahead, his\her family plays an important role. So, yeah, be a good supporter and advise them when needed. 

As a parent you can show your child a good path and let them walk through it, face the challenges and learn from it. Raising a child is not a rocket science at all. By showing unconditional love, setting positive examples, encouraging open communication, creating a safe environment, celebrating achievements, parents can help their children to develop a positive outlook on life and build a strong foundation for their future.
